Grandmother's Flower Garden
History: Sponsored by Burleigh and Lorraine Bartlett. The Bartlett family has resided here since 1926. During the depression the family lost the farm, but was able to purchase it back in 1948. It was originally purchased in 1848 through a land grant. Arabut Ludlow (builder of Ludlow Mansion, Monroe) owned the land in 1853-1862. The Palm Sunday tornado (1965) went right over the farm, causing damage to every building.
Comments:
This quilt is a replica of a Grandmother’s Flower Garden owned by Lorraine. On a nice day and if there is a tour bus going past, Lorraine will hang the quilt out on the porch to share.
