Cadiz Springs State Recreation Area

Cadiz Springs State Recreation Area Highway 11 east of Browntown Browntown, WI 53522 https://www.friendsofcadizsprings.org/

Park features a handicap accessible boat launch, nature trails with educational signs, beach area, shelter house, and a newly installed 78 foot pole with an osprey nesting platform on top. Friends of Cadiz Springs have also been busy with other recent activities, including plans to restock Beckman Lake with northern pike, clearing willow trees near the boat launch, and removing brush from the shore. The DNR is reminding everyone not to “stock” Beckman Lake with fish caught in Zanders Lake or anywhere else. The DNR has plans to manage the proportions to keep the predator/prey balance, and to allow the existing fish to form a cycle of breeding that is self-perpetuating. Meetings of the Friends of Cadiz Springs are held on the second Monday of every month at 6:30 pm at Trailside Inn in Browntown, or in warmer weather at the east shelter in the park.
