“Running from the state capital of Madison south to the Illinois border, the 40-mile route could well become the most popular of Wisconsin’s 32 rails-to-trails conversions. It will skirt farm fields and visit small towns and wind amid the scenic hills and valleys that remain largely untouched by the urban sprawl that has gobbled much of the state’s rural countryside.”
