This interest intensified after I discovered medallion quilts. For over twenty years I’ve incorporated orphaned blocks into NOW Quilts (Nod to Other Women) which has invigorated my work by challenging me to honor patterns\, colors\, and fabrics anonymous women chose. I quilt by hand and my frame is a prominent feature in my home.

This bioblitz will act as a “snapshot” of the biodiversity within our watershed. \nWhat to expect: \nWe will have field forays held at Three Waters Reserve\, the Sugar River Retreat\, and Headgates Park. You can sign up for one foray\, or stay all day! \nWe will have light refreshments and water available throughout the day\, but guests are encouraged to bring their own as well. Dress for the weather. \nNewly added\, we have Easy Terrain Botany\, Nature Journaling\, self-led nature bingo cards\, and tables with additional nature activities for anyone who would like to stay closer to the building while learning something new. \nThere will be a Lunch and Learn presentation\, From Golf Course to Wild Refuge: How Biodiversity is Coming Back to the Sugar River\, over the lunch hour\, and an optional dinner; tickets are available for purchase for one or both of the meals. \nYou can learn more and register for the BioBlitz on our website: https://www.lsrwa.org/bioblitz
