Based on Johanna Spyri‘s 1880/81 classic Swiss children’s novel, this 2015 version of Heidi was filmed mainly in the Swiss canton of Graubünden, where Spyri’s story was set. Featuring veteran Swiss actor Bruno Ganz as Grandfather, and 10-year-old Anuk Steffen as Heidi, the film was released in 2017 in English. The beautiful scenery and photography coupled with following the book more closely than most previous movies makes this a family film not to miss. Comparable to a G rating; 1 hour 51 minutes.
