Robbie Fulks and His Band

Lost in the deserved accolades for being a fabulously unique, clever, and heartfelt writer is the fact that Robbie Fulks is also one of the best guitarists around. He can whip out songs in honky-tonk, country, bluegrass, power pop, or whatever strikes his ample whimsy at the time. As a skilled storyteller in song, his stories embody both richness and simplicity. This alternative country singer-songwriter, and instrumentalist is quickly putting himself all over the musical map. His 13 albums include the influential early "alternative country" classic Country Love Songs, the widely acclaimed Gone Away Backward, and, most recently, Upland Stories. He was nominated for two 2017 Grammy awards: Best Folk Album (Upland Stories) and Best American Roots Song (Alabama at Night), and has performed on Austin City Limits, A Prairie Home Companion, The Grand Ole Opry, The Today Show, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and 30 Rock. He was named to NPR's and Rolling Stone's Best of 2016 lists.
