Memorial Day Ceremony

6:00 a.m. American Legion members raise the "Avenue of Flags" at Greenwood Cemetery. 7:00 a.m. Squads decorate veterans graves at Greenwood Cemetery (approximately 1,700 graves) 8:30 a.m. Units assemble at Recreation Park in preparation to march to the Greenwood Cemetery. (American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and other units) 9:30 a.m. Memorial Day Service at the Monument in Greenwood Cemetery, conducted by all service units, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, etc. Noon - Potluck dinner served at the Zilmer-Riley American Legion Post No. 84, located at 1627-12th Avenue, Monroe, WI 53566 We also have a Dedication at the Green County Veterans Memorial Park on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. The GCVMP is located at the intersection of State Road 81 and County Trunk N, Monroe, just northwest of Monroe.
