4th of July Music Fest

Featuring a variety of popular local bands. On July 4, 1876 a celebration was held on the new foundation of Washington Church including Music and Food. Over the years this tradition has continued with Washington's reputation for good music and good food. Held rain or shine (tent available). Directions from Monticello to Washington Reformation Church. Take County C west. Go 5 miles, turn left on Church Road.

Food booths, entertainment, Monroe City Band Concert "All American Salute" with colors presented by Monroe Fire Department at 7:30 PM. Softball, slowpitch, & volleyball tournaments. Fireworks at 9:30 PM.

Monroe City Band Concert

Tonight's theme: Declarations - in conjunction with the City of Monroe's 4th of July celebration. The band originally formed in 1949 and with members from various communities around the area they have been delighting audiences ever since. Under the direction of Brian Bruggeman.

Monticello Homecoming

Sponsored by Monticello Community Club, Monticello Chamber of Commerce, Lions & Lioness. All Weekend
You don't need to eat before you come in to Homecoming! The Lioness Club will have their food stand open beginning Friday at 4:00 p.m.  Pie flavors change daily, so check often for your favorite before it is sold out. The Lions Club will be serving their famous homemade fried cheese curds (never frozen) and fried mushrooms all weekend. The Boy Scouts will be on the grounds to serve you grilled sandwiches and more, and the MHS Sports Boosters with have their fresh squeezed ice-cold lemonade.
You won't go hungry at the ball diamond either, as The Friends of the Library will be providing brats, hot dogs, nachos, popcorn and more, along with cold beverages.
WWI display in the lobby of the former Monticello Ford building at 120 W. North Avenue.
Friday night Fish Boil at the Octagon Shelter, near the lake starting at 5:00 p.m. This is the traditional fish boil with boiled potatoes, onions, and fish - and plenty of melted butter. 
Mud Volleyball tournament begins Friday at 6:00 p.m., and continues Saturday and Sunday.
Rock Rebel Junction are playing Friday night from 8:00 p.m. to Midnight.

Monticello PTO's Third Annual Pony Trot 5K Run/Walk and Little Pony 1K. 
Mud volleyball, grass volleyball and 3-on-3 basketball will be happening all day Saturday. Sign up is in advance by contacting the coordinator. Coordinators: Mud Volleyball ($75 registration) is Kevin Johnson at (608) 558-9189. Grass Volleyball ($60) is Braden Rindy at (608) 214-4808. Basketball ($50) is Jacob Marty at (608) 558-5493.
Motorcyclists - At 9:30 a.m., you can sign up for Monticello Homecoming Ride Registration at Shawna's Bar & Grill. The ride leaves at 11:00 sharp from there. Great ride and great prizes - and it's all for a great cause also, the Empty Stocking Fund.
FREE Kids Pedal Tractor Pull. Registration is at 9:30 a.m., at W. North Avenue, in front of the Monticello Pool House. For ages 3-10, four age classes, and trophies! Monticello Area Historical Society Museum on Saturday from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Their new exhibit is "Monticello of Yesteryear."
Back this year is Tug of War, brought to us by the US Amateur Tug of War Association. Teams from four states will compete in several weight classes and the competition will include Men's, Women's and Co-ed teams. Pulling starts at 12:30 p.m., and will run throughout the afternoon.
Don't forget the canoe races around Lake Montesian.  Following is the "triathlon".... a fun based relay race. The team divisions are the same as the canoe races. Community Firefighter Water Fights will be held on Saturday starting at 1:00 p.m., on W. North Avenue, by the pool. 
From 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the main beer tent, Andy Yaun will entertain, sponsored by Harvey W. Kubly, CPA, and Freitag Financial Services.
The Zwingli Brotherhood is proud to sponsor "They Came and They Went: Remembering the Rural Schools of Green County," presented by Matt Figi, who attended the Enterprise School southwest of Monroe for eight years as did his father, aunts and uncles, and great-aunt and great-uncle.
At the beer stand, from 8:00 p.m. - Midnight, there will again be live music, Family Business (no cover charge, of course), with at break at about 9:45 p.m. for the FIREWORKS!!
Sunday
A Community Church Service will begin at 9:30 a.m., at Montesian Gardens.
Chicken Barbecue, sponsored by Monticello Community Club. The group is serving half chicken dinners for $10.00, or just chicken for $7.00. Serving will begin at 11:00 a.m., at the Octagon Shelter. 
The parade will begin at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, July 9. The mud volleyball tournament continues from Saturday, as well as the softball tournament.  Again this year, the bean bag competition will be held at the baseball beer tent at 3:00 p.m. Registration is day of. Sunday afternoon and evening music lineup: At the main beer stand, after the parade, about 3:00 p.m., the Zweifel Brothers will be performing until 6:00 p.m. River Rockers will play from 7:00 p.m.-10:30 p.m., sponsored by the Monticello Community Club. Hang out for good fun and conversation until the raffle drawing at 9:00 p.m. (Remember - no entry fee for any entertainment at the beer stand - all weekend long.)

15th annual event - Pedal for Paws...the Purrfect Bike Tour! Benefit for Green County Humane Society.
