For Middleton, Wisconsin artist Jean Sandrock, art has been a passion throughout her life as an illustrator in pen and ink, a calligrapher, and for the past twelve years, a collage artist using papers from around the world. Her current work takes inspiration from beautiful textural papers. Creating layers of texture using embellishments and fibers, she creates art works as she paints with paper. The tactile quality of her work causes viewers to wonder if the art pieces are fabric. The beauty of the color and texture of each paper used becomes the focal point in her work.
