Following WWII, song-and-dance duo Bob Wallace and Phil Davis follow sister duo Betty and Judy to perform in Columbia Inn in Pine Tree, Vermont. As they arrive Bob and Phil find their old commander, General Waverly, is the lodge owner and in trouble. While the group tries to pull off a yuletide miracle for the General, a series of romances and mix-ups occur causing tensions to rise. The witty humor, toe tapping songs, astonishing dance numbers, and drama in this Christmas classic is sure to put you in the mood for this season. Includes memorable songs such as: White Christmas, Snow, Count Your Blessings, and more. Directed by Katie Doyle-Bauman.

Hailing from Madison, Wisconsin, Beth Kille and Erik Kjelland are no strangers to the joy, beauty, perils of winter, and the holiday season. The North Star Sessions are a collection of original and traditional winter, Christmas-themed, and clever spins on holiday classic songs. With smooth harmonies and a blend of their signature voices, their songs include stories of struggling through the winter weather to return to a paramour after time on the road; trying to survive the dredge of the long, cold season by leaning on true love, and making New Year's resolutions to start living life to the fullest.

Cannova's Holiday Celebration

What better way to enjoy and celebrate the season than with an evening of Christmas music, song, and merriment from the cast of the popular Cannova's Christmas Show. The magic of the season unfolds as this talented vocal ensemble, who perform each December at Cannova's in Freeport, Illinois, head north to the Monroe Arts Center to take you on a magical journey with a variety of favorite holiday tunes and magical stories. With accompaniment by pianist and Cannova's owner, Patrick Beckman, this show is guaranteed to be a delightful holiday celebration that would bring a smile even to Scrooge.

In addition to refreshments at the Hospitality Center, Emmi Roth will be hosting a cheese sampling of different types of Emmi Roth cheeses and Dessert Auction. Highest bidders get to take home delicious desserts to help sweeten their holiday! Refreshments will be served and you will get to meet Mrs. Claus and her elves. Tickets to the event will be available at the door of our Hospitality Center located at 209 Main Street, Monticello. Doors will open at 9:45am on December 10th . Bel Canto Singers - A Choral Christmas

Founded in 1979, the Bel Canto Singers of Monroe consists of over twenty-five members. Under the direction of Allen Redford, Director of Choral Music at Highland College, the Bel Canto Singers are recognized by audiences for the excellent artistic interpretations of choral works. From baroque and short classical works, to spirituals, show tunes, and contemporary works by area composers, Bel Canto concerts are a highlight of the season. Their annual Christmas concert is one of their most popular events.

A Christmas Carol Radio Show

Marley may be as dead as a door nail, but the great Charles Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol is alive and well in MAC's first radio show. A holiday season tradition in the days before television was to listen to A Christmas Carol performed by actors for both a radio and live audience. Produced by Monroe Arts Center in partnership with Monroe Theatre Guild. Written and directed by Richard Hilger, a theater professional and former principal at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis, with John Baumann in the role of Scrooge, this audio presentation features local actors playing multiple characters with ingenious and dramatic sound effects. Experience the magic and nostalgia of radio and create a new holiday memory. December 24: WBGR-FM 93.7 at 10 pm; WEKZ-AM 1260 & FM 95.5 at 8 am; WFRL-AM 1570 at 6 pm.
